There are some electrical saber gloves on the market by Noor Plaything. When you check inside the glove for the official labels, they do have FIE and 800 Newton labels, however, the turn-under (or inside hem) of the cuff is only 2cm, not the regulation 5cm turn-under. These saber gloves are not legal.
Please know, that when we do saber glove checks at our SBD tournaments, we are checking for the FIE label, 800 Newton label and the 5cm turn-under inside the manchette cuff. (We also look for holes and tears).
If your electric saber glove is missing any, or all, of these items, we cannot pass your glove at our Division tournaments.
We don’t want you to come all the way to our tournaments and not be able to fence because of this turn-under issue on the electric saber cuff. So, please check your saber glove.
