Saturday, September 21, 2019, 3-Weapon Open at College of the Desert
First tournament of the 2019-2020 San Bernardino Division fencing season was held at College of the Desert on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
We always thank and appreciate the fencers who come to participate in our tournaments. We always have a good time and there is always plenty of very fine fencing.
Mixed Saber (l-r): 1st place, Angelina Yang (LA Fencing Academy of Pomona), 2nd, Jaemin Choi (Avant Garde Fencers Club), 3rd, James Chen (LA Fencing Academy of Pomona), 3rd, Gabriel Lira (Arrowhead Fencing Club). Angelina earned her E19 rating!Mixed Epee (l-r): 5th, Dennis Stephen (Desert Fencing Academy), 3rd, Frank Hewitt (Cabrillo), 3rd, David Polakoski (Encinitas Fencing Academy), 2nd, Algernon Clay (South Coast Fencing Center), 1st, Henry Li (Team Touche). Dennis earned his D19 rating, Algernon earned his C19 rating and Henry earned his B19 rating!Men’s Foil (l-r): 3rd, Theo Fernandez (Polytechnic), 2nd, Edward Lee (Polytechnic), 1st, Samuel Johnson-Lacoss (Polytechnic), 3rd, Paul Zappia (Desert Fencing Academy).
