Hi to all the fencers and visitors to the San Bernardino Division website! We had a fast-paced and exciting fencing tournament at Hemet High School. Twenty saber fencers to make the event a D1, 19 fencers for epee, making it an E1 event, and 15 fencers for foil making it an E1 event.
In saber, Arturo Perez-Hunt, Desert Fencing Academy, took 1st place and earned his D16, Victor Bianchini, Golden Saber Academy, took 2nd place and earned his E16 and Richard Garcia, Gryphon, took 3rd place and earned his E16.
In epee, Doug Thistlethwaite, No Fear, took 1st place, Morgan Wicklund, Encinitas Fencing Academy, took 2nd place, earning his E16, Arturo Perez-Hunt and Mark Johnson, both from Desert Fencing Academy, tied for 3rd place and both earned their E16!
In foil, Dylan DiVito, Gryphon, took 1st place and earned his E16, Alyssa de la Cruz, Massiaslas Foundation, took 2nd place and Leslie Taft, Desert Fencing Academy, took 3rd place.
The next San Bernardino Division fencing event is Saturday, March 19 at College of the Desert. This is the qualifier for Summer National Championships. The qualifier is open to fencers who are members of the San Bernardino Division, no out-of-Division fencers for this fencing event.
